Guatemala City – On July 1 and 2, the Westin Camino Real Hotel in Guatemala City hosted the 11th CNVGT 2026 International Veterinary Convention, held under the theme "For the Great Fight" (*Por La Gran Lucha*). This gathering brought together students, professionals, and industry companies to share experiences, stay updated on the latest developments, and discuss animal care in the region.

Petmedica®, the companion animal line from Agrovet Market®, participated in the convention alongside Monteco, its strategic partner in Guatemala. During the event, Dr. Luis Alfredo Chávez Balarezo, International Technical-Commercial Manager, delivered a lecture on Veterinary Research, sharing practical methodologies for daily clinical work with companion animals with an audience of over 200 veterinarians, experts, and students.

Additionally, the international campaign "El amor cuida" (Love Cares)—featuring artist Chayanne—continues to be promoted; the campaign is already active in eight Latin American countries. This initiative aims to promote comprehensive, preventive pet health, transforming medical protection into an act of conscious, responsible, and high-quality care for animals.

At the Petmedica® booth, various products from the companion animal line were showcased. A highlight was Atrevia® 360°, an innovative solution formulated with Fluralaner, Moxidectin, and Praziquantel, offering comprehensive protection against fleas, ticks, mites, cestodes, and nematodes for up to three months. Also highlighted were the properties of Petonic Recuperation®—a nutraceutical formula designed as a key solution for supporting critically ill dogs and cats—and Suralan®, a long-acting oral ectoparasiticide formulated to treat and control fleas, ticks, and mites in dogs. These products are designed to streamline treatments and provide simple, effective solutions to the real-world needs veterinarians face in their clinics. Petmedica® reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting veterinary training and product innovation for companion animals in Guatemala.
