Oxitotic, uterotonic and lactiferous
Injectable Solution
Oxytocin 10 IU, excipients q.s.ad. 1 mL
For stimulation of uterine contractions. Acceleration of normal labor. Prevention and treatment of uterine atony and post partum hemorrhage, retained placenta, secundines and remains of exudates. Pyometritis and endometritis. Initiation of lactation after birth (milk letdown), agalactia. Coadjuvant (or only) in treatment of mastitis.
Mares and cows: 4 - 8 mL; pigs: 1 - 3 mL; sheep, goats, camelids, dogs and cats: 0.3 - 1.5 mL. Apply through intramuscular or subcutaneous route. For application through endovenous route, reduce the dose to one half.
