Suprivan®

Short Action Hypnotic Anesthetic for Intravenous use

Canines Felines Injectable Emulsion

Propofol 10 mg, excipients q.s. ad 1 mL

Suprivan® is recommended as a general anesthetic in short procedures, in the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia in long-lasting surgeries, by repeated doses or continuous infusion and as an inducer of general anesthesia when maintenance is handled with inhalation anesthetics. Indicated as induction agent (especially before endotracheal intubation or an inhalation anesthetic) and as an anesthetic for ambulatory diagnosis or minor procedures (repair of lacerations, radiological procedures, minor dentistry, minor biopsies, endoscopy, among others). As a general anesthetic in relatively short procedures and for the treatment of the epileptic refractory state.

Administer only by intravenous injection. The dose of induction in dogs when not using a pre-anesthetic is 5.5 to 7.0 mg/kg (in practice 1 mL/1.4 to 1.8 kg), while in cats it is 8 to 13.2 mg/kg (in practice 1 mL/0.75 to 1.25 kg). The doses with different pre-anesthetics like xylazine, acepromazine, medetomidine and ketamine among others are drastically reduced. Other animal species: between 3 and 15 mg/kg.
